Forget Payet and the EU, if anyone is planning on buying a 30 grand car...
|
Forget BMW's and Mercs, great cars as they are, for this price you can't beat the 2016 Focus RS. An absolute beast (BEAST) of a car for circa 30k.
I had the pleasure of driving one recently. Yes, it's a Ford Focus, but if you're only gonna spend £30k you won't get better value. 0-62 in 4.7 seconds, top speed 160 mph.
AWD, the engineering in this machine is incredible, it listens to everything you tell it to to, cornering it sticks to the road like it's on rail. Drove it in sports mode but admittedly didn't try drift mode. A real triumph to the engineers at Ford. Ok, pretty basic inside which is where the BMW or Merc would give more comfort and luxury feeling but it you want a phenomenally fast (FAST) car without looking like a flash coke-dealer, get a Focus RS 2016.....
Unassuming, but awesome power and handling. If you're thinking of buying a new motor for around this price, please book a TD of the Focus RS, you will not be disappointed.

A Focus is a Focus. Push the boat out and get a 5.0 Mustang.

Mentor, yes not a bad shout it's only slightly more than the Focus but the handling of the Mustang won't compare to the Focus and it's a 5L against the Focus 2.4L. Depends on your priorities and budget..

And how is it a Fiesta? Hmm, don't know of many production Fiestas that would tear strips of Subes, Ferraris and Lambos...

And we're talking about a 30k car that outperforms those Lambos and Ferraris. If you want a Lambo or Ferrari you'd have to pay more than 30k :-)

RS and ST hot hatches are the funniest little cars ever. Silly orange and green things that only look normal for 17-20 year olds, yet only affordable to people at least 10 years older who are starting to feel a bit sad about mortality and think this will help. If you are 26-49 and driving one of these, you look like a weird tattooed version of the child catcher from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

I can easily go at 130 in my Volvo. (Probably 140, but I've never gone quite flat out)
13/16 of 160, and I'll let you have it for 13/16 of £30000...

Youare so wrong my friend, how wrong you are.
If you are talking about the MK2 you would be right. But I'm talking about the 2016 Focus. Probably won't appeal to the Essex mob (although nothing wrong with that), no lime green etc.
2016 comes in Grey, Blue, White.....Black
You're thinking of the RS in a different era ..

Mate, nothing wrong with age. The bloke who took me out around the track for the first couple of laps was a huge brummie boke who I thought was in his 70's. He was one of the best drivers I've ever been in a car with, he drove the RS much more to the limits that I dared to. Age means nothing my friend...
